He's pirating someone else's intellectual property. Do not buy from
this guy. The designer is still alive, and has explictly decided NOT
to sell plans in North America, after bad experiences with licensing
them to Falconar Avia Back In The Day.

OTOH, although I used to think that the CriCri was an incredibly cool
concept, I am now convinced that it was really designed to make the BD-5
look like a "Mil-Spec" item. This is mostly because, although I do admit
that I have never personally seen a CriCri,. I seem to recall reading a lot
of the skins are 0.010 aluminum. (Cringe)

However, I am not favorably impressed with those who seem to assert
"intellectual property rights" simply to keep engineering precedent from
public view.

Therefore, IMHO, if you really intend to build this thing, please include me
in your will. But if you are simply curious about Michel Columban's design,
this may be the only way--and $20 plus shipping sounds reasonable enough.

I have a set of the CriCri plans, and I have to say that I'm pretty
impressed with the drawings and the general instructions. I wouldn't
buy them from pirates such as this guy, but they are worth having if
only for their guidance on working with light-gauge metal and mixing
metal and Klegecell or PVC foam.

I skimmed the plans and didn't find any references to skins thinner
than 0.4mm (0.016"). That's a pretty typical skin thickness even for a
lot of Cessna parts. I know that Aeronca ailerons are riveted up out
of a lot of .016" parts including ribs, spars, and D-skins.

Well, I was concerned that I may have misremembered--and did. :-(

It's no surprise that the plans are well drawn, as M. Columban is/was an
aeronautical engineer.

I, too, prefer to have true, licensed plans. However, if the licensed plans
have indeed become unavailable in my country because of a tiff involving a
previous commission agent, then anyone who genuinely wishes to review the
design appears to have little choice. It is really none of my concern
whether M. Columban "shot himself in the foot" with an excessively durable
agreement with a commission agent or is simply, as the Brits might phrase
it, "in a towering pet!"

Just my opinion, and of admittedly modest value...

Thanks again for the correction. A thickness of .010 did seem too much like
Reynolds Warp, but it was what I thought that I recalled.
